Botanical Healing Garden

Just now it is a fenced area with saplings and small shrubs waiting to grow.  The vision is that this will be a place of peace, a bench or two to sit on, trees to offer shade, plants to give colour and scent and plants traditionally  used by the community to restore health.  It will need care and nourishment and time, just like us.

Thank you to everyone who has made this possible.

On Friday 10th October 2025 the planting of the Botanical Health Garden began. The Friends of Namuncha Kenya, represented by Its consultants Dr. Njeri Nyanja and Mr. Alex Kihugu joined hands with the #Kenya Association of Family Physicians representative Dr. Nthusi Nthula from Kabarak University, Dr. Esther Gitahi and her team from #Nakuru County Health Department, the Namuncha Community led by Chairman Mr. Lerru Dolman and pupils and teachers from Namuncha Schools to celebrate 2025 Mazingira Day.

Together, we launched a Healing Garden, planting fruit and exotic trees — symbols of health, peace, and renewal for our community.

As Prof. Wangari Maathai, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, reminded us:

#When we plant trees, we plant the seeds of peace and hope.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed and participated — especially the Kenya Association of Family Physicians for their generous support.

Let’s keep nurturing these trees and the hope they represent for a greener, healthier Namuncha!
