Namuncha Peace Secondary School

In January 2013, the local community secured a grant from the Government Community Development fund. Together with some of their own resources, this enabled them to build the first four class rooms of the secondary school in Namuncha.

The charity has funded the construction of composting toilets, kitchen, materials for the science lab and fencing for the school garden.

The secondary school has enabled children to continue their education, but it is still lacking essential resources.

Your donations will fund:

  • teaching materials, such as text books and maps to teach geography
  • equip a science teaching lab, and lab teaching equipment
  • final finishes to the building itself so it will become more durable
  • classroom furniture and locking desks for pupils and teachers
  • the building of sanitary facilities for girls
  • play areas and sporting facilities

The mood in the secondary school is more serious, the cheeky, smiling children have grown into young adults acutely aware of their future, their country’s future and their place within it.

Secondary school education is their passport to a better life.  The Friends raise money every year to sponsor children from needy families to attend Peace Secondary School.  To find out more click here.
