At the end of the day the training engine is in pieces at the motorcycle repair workshop

Motorcycle Repair Workshop

In the autumn of 2019 Mike from TipTop Bikes in Nairobi came to Namuncha to run a workshop for three aspiring mechanics.

Quick Quacks, a UK motor cycling group of doctors and paramedics, donated the money to buy a full repair tool kit and materials.

Under the continued mentor-ship of Mike and the supervision of local mechanic Mukuku, there is a now a functioning facility with three trainees attending to a regular supply of bikes from the local Boda Boda drivers and bike owners.

A Boda boda is a motor bike (piki piki) that is used to carry people or goods for a fare.  The origin of the word comes from the Kenyan, Uganda borders where the bikes taxied people from border to border.  A pedal-cycle that performs the same function is also called a boda boda.

This project, thanks to the support of TipTop Bikes and their engineer Mike and Quick Quacks, is now up and running.
